Ann Mercer

We've been delighted to have the lovely and talented ceramicist Ann Mercer working in our studio over the last few months. I've just fallen in love with Ann's bold, geometric patterns and shapes.Ann Mercer vasesAnn has recently completed her degree at Central St. Martins and has a small studio at Iliffe Yard at the Elephant and Castle in South London. They will be having an Open Studios event on from the 7th to 9th December - which I can't wait to visit! Her work is also currently being exhibited at SEE exhibition space in High Holborn, London and there will be an Open Day on 5th December when all exhibits will be for sale.Ann Mercer Pitchers"My work reflects both my interest in cities and in geometry and the vessels in the current collection are based on architectural forms, asymmetric and angular. The colour palette is that of the Renzo Piano's new development at St. Giles Circus in Covent garden and the patterns are derived from urban details such as grids, louvres, windows and canopies."Ann Mercer close upThere's lots more to see on Ann's website MercerMercer.com and you can find some of her pieces in Do Shop in Covent Garden, Dowse Design in Brighton and Vanil in Woodbridge in Suffolk. And thank you to Ann and her ceramics for brightening our studio!
